Natural Rough is based around empowering the artisan and building a connection between the ancestral handcrafted products and modern society. The project focuses on supporting and discovering indigenous techniques from the Venezuelan deserts though the Colombian mountains of the Sierra Nevadas de Santa Marta. We provide an opportunity to artisans who want to increase their quality of life, and rediscover their forgotten trades.
Supporting indigenous trades
Natural rough is all about supporting artisan communities that hand down their art trades into the modern world while integrating the way the see art and the world. The artisan is in touch with the products though the whole process telling generational stories through each handcrafted piece and providing a modern perspective on ancestral trades.
